If you talk about exfoliation the first thing that comes to anyone’s mind is scrubs. Scrubs may be oatmeal, sugar, anything with granules or textures. To put it simply, chemical exfoliants use acids or enzymes. This helps to dissolve and loosen the cells, whereas physical exfoliants work by scrubbing away the dead skin.

Exfoliation, in general, helps to reveal a fresh, bright skin that is often underneath the dead skin cells. Both exfoliation work, but it is easy to aggravate your skin if not used properly. You can end up stripping your skin’s barrier or cause micro-tears by scrubbing too hard. Thus making way for infection. Dr Sheth’s Gentle Daily Peel is a gentle exfoliant that is supposedly safe for everyday use.

I personally prefer chemical exfoliation over physical. Dr Sheth’s Basic Brightening Extra Gentle Daily Peel is one such chemical exfoliant. Its key ingredients are Glycolic Acid, Lactic Acid, Calendula Extracts and Pomegranate Extracts. All of which help in hydrating, resurfacing, calming and brightening.

This particular peel is excellent for beginners, as the acids aren’t as strong. So if you are accustomed to chemical peels or chemical exfoliation, you will not find it as effective.

Dr Sheth's Gentle Daily Peel

My Thoughts

For starters, I find this to be very mild. It helps to brighten the skin and also makes it quite soft. Also has a mild tingling feeling which is normal for most chemical exfoliants. It is a lotion based peel and is hydrating. Does not irritate the skin or make it overly dry.

Although it says daily peel, I prefer to keep it at twice a week. I have had chemical peels done in clinics hence my skin is used to it. When I started it initially I couldn’t find any difference. My skin felt more or less the same. However, with consistent use over time, I am able to see good results. I will reiterate that it is not the most suitable for those whose skin is used to peels. It comes in a 50 ml pump bottle. My only problem is the fact that their pumps are hit or miss.

Would I Recommend Dr Sheth’s Basic Brightening Extra Gentle Daily Peel?

For beginners, yes. For seasoned users, you can pass. Unless the idea of using a chemical exfoliant every day appeals to you. (Again, wouldn’t recommend that)

How To Use?

This peel can be used in three ways. You can use it as a mask, or an overnight lotion. It also works great as a spot corrector. You can watch this video for a quick demo.

  • Emolene the cream that everyone is talking about Thanks to urshaynesss and her gorgeous skin This cream was introduced to me by my elder sister She was pregnant and it was prescribed to her for excessive dryness by her doctor This cream is ideally suitable for normal to extremely dry skin But somehow it has been working for people with oily skin as well It could probably be due to the fact that it is a lightweight water based cream I ve used it mostly for my hands because they tend to dry every time I do the dishes And it works amazing in moisturising them Now this cream is a prescription cream which is why you ll only find it at a chemist s store It comprises of two ingredients Propylene Glycol and Diazolidinyl Urea is a great moisturiser humectant It also prevents the product from freezing or melting in extreme temperatures It also helps penetrate the actives in your skin better is an anti microbial preservative that preserves the product and does not let it go bad quickly It can cause skin irritation for some people It is safe to use at 0 5 or less otherwise it can release formaldehyde Emolene however is a clinical formulation and recommended by dermatologists Hence considered safe to use Read the comments by pure bubbles skincare to read more about this preservative Doctors prescribe this cream for kids who suffer from dry flaky skin Making this quite versatile Did you try Emolene What are your thoughts on it
  • At this point I think I ve gotten too comfortable with Instagram I never shy away from showing my skin as it is even on days when it s bad you ll see it But my hair save me Lord I am currently testing out new products The qurezforyou Bakuchiol has done some serious magic to my skin I am obsessed with that serum It s too early to tell because it s only been 2 weeks but oh boy I have also incorporated mystiquearth s Cleanser and Silk Serum Lotion These smell amazing I can t wait to test them out for a good period to see how they work Other than that I have actives on my face they re quite painful And I think it s purely lifestyle I am not sleeping well and I am over eating along with eating food items that my body reacts to I need to fix these as soon as possible before it gets worse And while on updates a little about my hair That fermented rice water thing didn t do shit to my hair It turned it stiff I guess I ll give it another shot using a different method because people still swear by it How is your skin doing lately Any product you ve been trying out that you love beautyanomaly skinhealth indianskincareblogger indianblogger skincare
