Hello Aloe Gentle Cleansing Lotion by Plum Goodness | Review

When I first heard about double cleansing I thought it was a fad, a marketing gimmick to ensure we put in more steps in our skincare routine than required. It’s only lately that I’ve started understanding the need for it and why it works effectively in one’s routine.

In the beginning, I actually thought double cleansing meant cleaning your face twice with the face wash. Yes. That I what I thought. But with a little research, I learned that double cleansing is a method that uses cleansing milk, lotions, oil, micellar water, etc, as the first step and then is followed by your cleanser. It not only helps to remove makeup but also helps with sunscreen, moisturizers, etc.

I could see a noticeable difference in my skin texture ever since I introduced double-cleansing. My skin was softer. Now that the step is out of the way, or in this case, in the way, it is important to find a cleansing agent that will suit your skin type and needs. For me, I need something that will help me get rid of sunscreens as I don’t wear makeup on a regular basis.

I decided to go ahead with the Aloe Gentle Cleansing Lotion by Plum Goodness because
A. Its main ingredient is aloe and aloe is well known for soothing irritant skin and has cooling properties.
B. It is by Plum Goodness, I’ve never had a problem with any of their products.

I am disappointed because I really wanted it to work. At the start, it was alright and would not cause irritation but after a few uses, my skin started reacting pretty badly. It stings and burns to the extent that it is almost impossible to use it. And if there’s one thing I’ve learned it is that if anything burns, it is not good for your skin. So I would definitely stay away from this.

I won’t recommend this. If a product stings or burns your skin your safest bet would be to discontinue using it as it might lead to a broken skin barrier.
